What is the IoD Bursary scheme?
The IoD Busary gives eligible directors the opportunity to complete a module Certificate in Company Direction module at 50% off.
Created for directors of eligible small and medium-sized businesses, this bursary offers a rare opportunity to access recognised training at a reduced cost, helping participants to build skills, confidence and knowledge in leading with impact.

Who is the IoD Bursary for?
Company Eligibility
The organisation on whose board the applicant sits must:
- Be a registered UK business for at least one year
- Have fewer than 50 employees
- Have an annual turnover of under £5 million
Membership requirements
Applicants must:
- Have been an IoD Member or Fellow for a minimum of one year
Professional Motivation
Applicants must demonstrate how they will use the skills gained to improve:
- Corporate governance
- Strategic planning
- Board leadership and decision-making
- Overall organisational performance
